HSBC Ability & Phenomenally: 5 Years Strong Together: Get Checked This Breast Cancer Awareness Month
5 Years of Pink October. And We're Just Getting Started.
In 2019, a group of friends on a rugby pitch in Hong Kong decided to do something about the personal losses they'd felt to cancer. That idea became Phenomenally Group — today a registered Hong Kong charity delivering free preventive ultrasound screenings across the city.
In 2022, HSBC ABILITY became one of the first partners to bring that mission inside their own walls. Five years later, we're still here — and this year, we're aiming higher than ever, with at least 500 ultrasound screenings taking place within the offices, sponsored entirely by HSBC ABILITY.
This October, HSBC ABILITY and Phenomenally Pink are delivering free ultrasound breast screenings to HSBC Hong Kong colleagues across the Olympic and Central offices. No referral, no cost, no waiting list — just a 10-minute check-up, right where you work, with results shared on the day.

About Phenomenally Group
We started on a rugby pitch in Hong Kong in 2019 by a group of friends who wanted to tackle cancer, and protect more people and lives from it, due to a personal loss. Today, we're a registered Hong Kong charity running free screening drives across the city, built around one idea: that preventive health should be part of everyday life — not a privilege, not an afterthought, and definitely not something to put off.
From Phenomenally Pink to Phenomenally Mo, we champion proactive health and self-care for both men and women — delivering free, no-referral ultrasound screenings for breast, thyroid, abdomen, testicular, and prostate health, in partnership with workplaces, clinics, and communities across Hong Kong.
In partnership with HSBC ABILITY. Phenomenally Group is a registered Hong Kong charity (File No. 91/20184).
Our Mission
To enable and maximise access to women's and men's health screenings through approachable community events.
Our Vision
To build a community promoting proactive women's and men's health awareness and action for early detection and prevention.
Our Promise: Proactive. Preventive. Protective.
Everything we do is built around these three principles - getting ahead of health risks, catching things early, and building a community strong enough to look out for each other.
Our Values
-
Community
Health happens together — and it goes both ways. We're grateful for every person who shows up for us, and we show up right back.
Our events, screening drives, and campaigns are built to bring people in, but also to hand them something they can take with them: the knowledge, the confidence, and the tools to look after themselves and the people around them.
When our community grows stronger, so does everyone in it.
-
Accessibility
Proactive health care should be inclusive, approachable, and open to everyone — regardless of background, budget, or how familiar you are with the system.
We design everything with accessibility at the centre: events that feel welcoming, screenings that are straightforward to sign up for, and conversations that meet people where they are. Whether you're a first-timer or a long-time supporter, there's a place for you here.
-
Action
We turn awareness into something people actually do — and feel good doing. From screening drives to community events, everything we create is designed to feel energetic, welcoming, and worth showing up for again. We don't just want people to know about their health; we want them to take it into their own hands. Knowing is the start. Doing is the point.
