Men's Evening: Conversations That Led to Checkups
Phenomenally GroupShare
For anyone new here: Phenomenally Mo is our men's health arm, running free, no-referral prostate and testicular checks across Hong Kong in partnership with HSBC Life, alongside honest conversations most men don't get space for elsewhere.
This time we tried something different: smaller, more personal conversations instead of a panel.
Andrew Cox led the discussions. Rasheed spoke about his experience for the first time — we were glad to hold that space, and grateful he'd reached out beforehand to Colin Symmonds, our Men's Pelvic Health Physiotherapist partner at Joint Dynamics, who's put real work into this exact conversation, both independently and with us. We also had a recent survivor from our screening programme in the room, and hearing everyone's different experiences was humbling.
Dr. Owens spoke about over-testing trends and the real evidence behind ultrasound: studies show adding ultrasound to mammography raises cancer detection sensitivity from 74% to 96%.
Tom, one of our longtime supporters, took the stage again, answering tough questions with real openness.
Free prostate and testicular checks were on offer, and over half the room got checked.
This isn't just a Movember conversation, stay tuned to our events for what's next on the calendar. We want more nights like this — more than once a year.
